Dunkelweizen / Partial Mash / 5 Gallon Batch

O.G. 1.052 - 11 IBU

Amber to brown hue. Creamy Smooth head with undertone of chocolate roast. German Weizen flavors of spice, clove and banana blends with the great malt flavor and low hop bitterness.  This beer is a favorite all year.

5-/12 Lb. Wheat Malt Extract

1-1/4 Lb. Belgian 2-row pale malt

1/4 Lb. German Chocolate Wheat malt

1 Lb. German Wheat

1/2 Lb. German Crystal 120L malt

3/4 ounce German Hallertauer Hersbrucker Hops @ 3.9 AA (60 Min.)

1/4 ounce German Hallertauer Hersbrucker Hops @ 3.9 AA (10 Min.)

# WLP300 Hefeweizen Yeast

1/2 Whirfloc tablet @ last 15 min of the boil

1-1/4 cup Wheat DME for Priming

Mash grains @ 150 degrees for 60 min. in 1-1/2 gallons of water. Sparge with 1-/12 gallon water @ 170 degrees.  Add the 3/4 oz. hops at start of 60 minute boil. Add the 1/4 oz. hops last 10 min. of the boil. Remove all hops before fermenting
