Beer Ingredients

German Oktoberfest Style / 5 gallon / Extract

O. G. 1.052 – 1.055 / F. G. 1.010 – 1.012   Hop IBU’s 20 - 22

 

4 Lb. Plain Light malt extract

 4 Lb. Plain Amber malt extract

4 oz. crushed crystal 40L.

4 oz. crushed CaraVienna.

4 oz. crushed English Mild malt

4 oz crushed Victory malt

1-oz. German Hallertau (bittering) 60 min Boil

1-oz. Czech. Saaz (finish) Add last 10 minutes

       You  choose the Yeast

WLP820 Oktoberfest Yeast ( 52-58 degrees), or 1 Nottingham Ale Yeast

1-1/4 Cup Dry Malt for priming

Steep All Grains in 1-gallon  - (or make sure the grains are covered with water by 1/2"), of 150 degree water for 45 minutes. Sparge with 1-gallon of water @ 170 degrees. Add water to brew pot for 2-1/4 gallon volume. Add malt extract and bring to a boil. Add the Bittering hops and boil for 50 minutes. Next add the Finish hops and boil for 10 minutes.

 Best aged for better flavor 6-8 weeks. But try one after two weeks. Enjoy.
