Beer Ingredients

Rogers Honey Ale /  5 Gallon Batch

O.G. 1.050 – 1.055  - Hop IBU's 6.5-7.5

3- 3/4 LBS  Briess Pilsner Malt Extract

2- LBS Honey

4 ounces Crushed Crystal 20 L

4 ounces Crushed Honey Malt

1- LB. Dry Rice Solids

1/2- oz.  Crystal Hops (bittering hops) 55 min.

1/2- oz.  Crystal Hops (finish hops) 5 min.

1 ea. East Coast Yeast WLP 008

5 Ounce Priming Sugar

 Heat 1/2 gal water to 150 degrees Add grain in a grain bag. Let steep for 20 min. Remove bag pour 1/2 gallon water at approx. 170 degrees over bag slowly to rinse. Discard grain. Add water to brew pot for 2 1/2 gallons, add malt and rice solids, bring to a boil for 5 minutes. Add bittering hops, boil for 55 minutes. Add finish hops & honey, boil for 5 minutes. Cool to to 72 Degrees. Primary ferment at 68-73 degrees. Best aged for 4 weeks
