The Following is from Hop Union Co.                              Bobs Method

Bobs Method ( Read the stuff above first)

Take a 5 gallon bucket with handle and cut the bottom off. Dig your hole deep enough to insert the bucket and leave a 1/2-1" above ground. Remember keep the different varieties about 3-5 feet apart. Layer the hole first with one loose small gravel then a mix of 75% top soil and 25% potting soil mix. (I like the Miracle Grow) I Place the Rhizome 1/2" to 1" below the surface horizontally. Planting two rhizomes on either side of the bucket works well. Lightly water. When the the little sprouts come up, just let them lay on the grown for a week. The three fattest get to be trained up the twine. The handle on the bucket is a great  way to tie off the twine. I run my twine 10 foot up to the railing on my deck.

After the vines are about 2-3 feet tall and are going up the twine clock wise well, I chop off the other vines on the ground. This lets the roots grow well. After the vine is about 6-8 feet tall. Pinch off all the lower leaves and keep pinching off and new vines that come up from the ground.

I use seven dust for the first couple of months until the June bugs are gone. Then use a Safe Soap style spray. Harvest just like Hop Union recommends.
